Abu Dhabi: Torrential rain lashed the mountainous areas in the region of Shawkat in the south of Ras Al-Khaimah.
The rain replenished Buraq River and moderated temperatures across the area.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that the most rain fell in Al-Fuqaa region, which recorded 56.2 millimetres.
The NCMS issued a statement denying claims that the United Arab Emirates is being hit by an unprecedented wave of heat, forecasting maximum temperatures to range this summer between 44 and 49 degrees Celsius, reported local Arabic daily Al-Bayan.
