Several gold and jewellery traders taking part in the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s Manama gold festival confirmed recovery of the gold market during Ramadan, which coincides with the event being held in Old Manama Suq for the first time.
“Demand for gold during this period has increased by 75 to 80 per cent compared with the same period last year, as the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly affected the market over the past two years, especially during last Ramadan, which witnessed strict social distancing measures,” they told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej .
