Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police foiled an attempt to smuggle 1million amphetamine pills into Saudi Arabia.
The anti-narcotics officers arrested two Arab nationals and seized the haul of drug as it was on its way to Saudi Arabia through the UAE territories.
After monitoring the two suspects between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, the security authorities intercepted the narcotics, reported local Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm.
Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police, praised local anti-drug agencies for their effective cooperation and coordination, under the supervision of the ministry.
The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department reiterated the police's commitment and its capacity to thwart any attempts that threaten the security and safety of the community.
