Cairo: The body of Egyptian-American chemist and Nobel laureate Ahmed Zuweil arrived in Cairo amid preparations for an official military funeral on Sunday.
The renowned scientist, known as the ‘father of femtochemistry’, died in the United States last Tuesday at the age of 70.
A military funeral will be held in his honour and prolific achievements although this practice is restricted to military brass, reported EgyptNews.
Dr. Zuweil is recipient of the Order of the Grand Collar of the Nile, the highest Egyptian state honour.
