Riyadh: The Saudi cabinet announced a clampdown on sidewall driving which is increasing alarmingly and claiming lives of young Saudi boys.
It approved amendment to Article 69 of the Traffic Law so as to make stunt driving a traffic violence.
The violator will have his vehicle seized for 15 days and a fine of SR20,000 for first the time.
If the offence is again, the vehicle will be seized for 30 days and a fine of SR40,000, according to SPA.
In both cases, the violator will be referred to the court.
In case of third violation, the vehicle will be seized and a fine of SR60,000 will be slapped on the violator. The seizure or confiscation of vehicle will not be applicable to rented or stolen vehicles.
