Riyadh: Jeddah-based Al-Ittihad FC beat Al-Raed 3-2 in the first week of the Saudi Jameel Football League.
The two teams drew 0-0 in the first half of the match which was held at King Abdulla Sport City in Buraidah.
A big number of football fans attended the match braving the heat to support their teams.
Fahd Al-Mouwaled scored twice for Al-Ittihad FC, 54 and 65 minutes into the match before teammate Egyptian Mahmoud Abdulmonam, nicknamed ‘Kahraba’, sealed the final result.
Al-Raid staged a thrilling comeback at the end of the match with two goals netted by Sayyaf Al-Bishi and Gilmar Da Silva in 81 and 89 minutes but the final result was already sealed for Al-Ittihad FC, reported Arabic daily Al-Riyadh.
