Riyadh: A manpower agency is facing legal action in Saudi Arabia for displaying new housemaids at a hypermarket in Dhahran in the eastern province. The Ministry of Labour and Social Development slammed the move, describing what happened as “totally unacceptable”.
The ministry’s spokesperson Khalid Abal Khail said that the firm would be held legally accountable. “The ministry’s inspectors acted promptly to put an end to the violation and take measures against the agency”, he said.
A video recording posted online showed three new housemaids standing near a counter along with an ad to hire them.
