Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina footballer Lionel Messi has arrived in Jeddah after the Saudi Tourism Authority announced him as its new official brand ambassador.

“I am pleased to welcome Lionel Messi to Saudi Arabia. We are excited for you to explore the treasure of the Red Sea, the Jeddah Season and our ancient history. This is not his first visit to the Kingdom and it will not be the last,” Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb tweeted.
The 34-year-old footballer arrived in Saudi on Monday accompanied by a group of friends.

The visit is Messi’s fourth to Saudi after he led his country in a friendly match against the country's national team at Riyadh's King Fahd International Stadium in 2011, before attending the Super Classico Cup between Brazil and Argentina, also in Riyadh.
