Riyadh: The Saudi police on Tuesday night foiled a terrorist attack on a mosque in the village of Umm Al-Hamam, in Al-Qatif.
The security forces became suspicious of two people who were standing near the mosque and clashed with them, killing one of them instantly, reported local Arabic daily Okaz.
They caught the second terrorist who tried to evade arrest after he was injured in the clash.
The police cordoned off the whole area to protect civilians before clashing with the two terrorists.
Initial inquiry revealed that the suicide bombers were planning to storm the mosque and blow themselves inside.
