Kuwait: A former employee at the Washington-based Kuwait Health Office has been remanded in prison for 21 days pending investigation.
The Public Prosecution ordered the man to be held in custody in connection with a suspected case of corruption, reported local Arabic daily Al-Qabas.
The US authorities had extradited the official to Kuwait to face charges of suspected involvement in embezzling public money.
Three other foreigners who are out of Kuwait are thought to be involved in the case.
