THE round of 16 matches in the fourth Khalid bin Hamad Youth Centres Futsal League and the First League for People with Special Needs, organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, will be held today at Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF) Hall in Isa Sports City.
Four more matches are scheduled for tomorrow.
The first match begins at 5pm between Al Shakhoora (winners of Group 1) and Dumistan (runners-up of Group 2) and it will be followed by a match at 6pm between Karranah (winners of Group 2) and Bu Quwah (runners-up of Group 1).
Central Youth (winners of Group 3) face Karbabad Youth (runners-up of of Group 4) at 7pm and it will be followed by a match at 8pm between Sanabis (winners of Group 4) and Abu Saiba (runners-up of Group 3).
Director of news at the Ministry of Information Affairs Abdullah Khalid witnessed the latest matches and stressed the importance of this event in promoting youth activities in the Kingdom.
He added that holding a league for people with special needs was an initiative to uphold humanitarian values.
Meanwhile, the first deputy chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and president of Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised Bahrain Petroleum Company’s (Bapco) decision to become bronze sponsors of the event.
Head of Public Relations department of Bapco Nawaf Al Ghanim said the sponsorship was part of the company’s commitment to promote sporting activities in the Kingdom.
