Saudi mother and son injured in bordering shelling from Yemen

GDN Online Desk

Riyadh: A Saudi mother and her child were injured in border shelling from Yemen.

A military projectile launched from Yemen hit their house in the province of Najran, injuring the mother and her two-and-half-year-old son, reported local Arabic daily Al-Sabq.

Both the mother and son were taken to a hospital.

Attacks have intensified since the peace talks between the Houthi rebels and their allies, and Yemen’s internationally-recognised government were suspended in August.

The United Nations has estimated that more than 6,200 people have died in Yemen since the war began in March last year.

Saudi Arabia has reported dozens of its soldiers and civilians have been killed in the conflict, according to Al Arabia
