The two fighters competing in Brave Combat Federation’s main event are locked in a verbal duel.
Brave ‘The Beginning’, which takes place at Khalifa Sports City on September 23, features a host of mouth-watering clashes involving international and home-grown talent from the middle-east – all looking to make a statement in this prestigious new promotion.
Lebanese sensation Mohammed Fakhreddine (8-10, nicknamed ‘The Latest’, has responded emotionally to ‘Monstro’ Thiago Vieira’s (8-0) claims that he would finish the fight quickly.
Vieira is riding an eight-fight win streak, all first or second round finishes and is used to having things his way.
But an enraged Fakhreddine took issue with these confident claims and made his feelings known on Facebook, assuring the Brazilian that he would be experiencing a completely different level of competition on September 23.
He said: “I promise you one thing – I am like no one you have faced before. You can take that crazy idea out of your head that you’re going to finish me quickly, you might be aggressive and you might be good, but I am just as aggressive and just as good. I have heavy hands as well and would love to see you make a mistake in this fight – I guess that is enough said for now.”
Afterwards, ‘Monstro’ responded with a simple “I will do my talking in the cage” as the anticipation for this historic main event started to bubble over.
Despite Vieira’s impressive record, Fakhreddine has only ever been finished once, by submission, and he avenged this defeat in the rematch.
‘The Latest’ believes he has faced tougher opposition than the Brazilian, who has run straight through all eight of his opponents so far – one by submission and seven by KO/TKO.
‘Monstro’ Vieira is an imposing athlete in the cage, who likes to press the action, similar to Fakhreddine, and doesn’t take a backwards step.
However, Fakhreddine loves a brawl and will welcome a war with Vieira as he possesses world-class boxing skills and one-punch knockout power.
