Bahrain Rugby Football Club will celebrate a Great British Weekend next week, in honour of 200 years of British-Bahraini relations.
Competitions, children’s activities, entertainment and more are lined up for September 29 and 30.
It will kick off with a quiz night on September 29 from 7.30pm.
Entry costs BD5 and guests must register teams of no more than six people by September 27.
Activities on September 30 begin at 11am with stalls in the main sports hall featuring a British-Bahraini theme.
At 2pm a darts tournament will commence and a cricket match will be played on the pavilion.
A 20-piece band from St Christopher’s School will then perform at around 3pm, followed by afternoon tea in Mano’s Restaurant from 3pm to 5pm – with reservations to be made in advance.
British Ambassador Simon Martin will present a prize to the winner of the Lemon Drizzle Cake competition later in the day.
Only 10 places are available and contestants must register at the Rugby Football Club Reception before submitting their cake by 2pm on September 30.
Prizes will be awarded for the Best British-Bahrain style themed couple, best hat and best themed stall, so be sure to get creative.
A performance by local band The Tax Dodgers will conclude the weekend at 8pm.
