Riyadh: A Saudi woman has filed a lawsuit with Jeddah Sharia Court, accusing her husband of spying on her telephone calls.
She claims that her husband planted a small device in a fixed telephone in their house to eavesdrop on her calls with her family, relatives and friends.
The husband denied accusation made by his wife, claiming that he only wanted to monitor the maidservant’s use of the phone.
The wife said in her complaint that she often uses the fixed phone line due to the bad mobile network coverage.
The Jeddah Sharia Court has referred the case to the reconciliation committee in an attempt to settle the dispute.
