Alice Springs gained the third Group One success of the season when seeing off the determined challenge of Always Smile in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.
Alice Springs had produced a jet-propelled finish to win the Matron Stakes by three and a quarter lengths at Leopardstown last month and another wide-margin victory looked on the cards when she moved powerfully under Ryan Moore to take a share of the lead on the approach to the final furlong.
Present at the race was Bahrain Ambassador to the United Kingdom Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, along with Rashid Horse Racing Club General Manager Tawfiq Sharaf Al Alawi and other officials from the club.
The race ran for 1,600 meters which saw spirited challenge by all the participating horses.
Shaikh Fawaz presented the Bahrain Trophy to the winner.
