Kerala Catholic Association will hold the KCA Zayani Motors International Volleyball Tournament 2016 from October 21 to November 4 at the association’s grounds.
This was announced by KCA President K P Jose during a press meet. KCA Sports Secretary Peter Thomas said the tournament would have eight teams which would be divided into two groups playing league matches in the first round. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The daily matches will commence at 7.30pm.
The winners will be presented with $1500 and the runners-up will collect $750. The winners and runners-up will also receive trophies.
Zayani Motors General Manager Mohammed Zaki said that they were pleased to extend all support to the tournament and it was for the third consecutive year that they were supporting volleyball events on the island. The other major sponsors are Lulu Hypermarket, Kims Bahrain Medical Centre, UAE Exchange, R P Construction, Airport Garage and Al Osara Restaurant.
Present at the press meet were Tournament Chairman Varghese Karackal, Kims Bahrain CEO Anas Basheer, Samson Samuel from UAE Exchange, Zamial Al Kindi from Zayani Motors and Shiji from Lulu Hyper Market.
Basheer is the Tournament Convenor and Rason Mathew is the Joint Convenor while Shiju is the General Coordinator along with Thomas Puthanveedan.
