Riyadh: Saudi Aramco emergency response teams succeeded in controlling a fire that broke out at a crude oil processing facility located in Alwasea, near Riyadh.
"We regret to report that several injuries have occurred, all are being treated", the company said in a statement, adding that the operations had not been impacted.
In a statement posted on the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the company said that it would release additional information as it becomes available.
Arabic newspaper Alriyadh reported that 17 workers were taken to the King Abdul-Aziz Medical City for treatment.
Three are currently in the intensive care unit while the others have been discharged. An official inquiry is underway.
