Long-time Royal Golf Club member Daniel Owen carded a brilliant six-under par 64 in the final round of the inaugural Sahara Kuwait Championship to finish in second place overall, just two shots clear of the winner, fellow Englishman Joe Heraty.
Owen, who has been a Royal Golf Club Ambassador for several years, has been playing professionally on the MENA Golf Tour for five years.
Fellow Royal Golf Club member Sam Hobday has joined the tour as an amateur this season for the first time. He provided the highlight of the opening day of the tournament at Sahara Golf Club, acing the 116-yard par-3, 14th with a pitching wedge. This was the fourth hole in one of his golfing career and his first in a big tournament.
“We are delighted to see two of our members doing so well on tour,” said Phil Waine, the Royal Golf Club’s Director of Golf Operations.
“Both players have been receiving coaching from our team of PGA Professionals since a young age and it’s great to see all their hard work and dedication paying off.”
