Manama: The next edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 9) will include women sports.
This was announced by Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and president of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa during the closing ceremony of Nasser 8 on Saturday which was attended by minsters, sponsors, dignitaries and participating teams.
Shaikh Nasser said the new step to include a number of women sports will add to the championship and target both genders.
Shaikh Nasser honoured several officials from Interior Ministry, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, Information Affairs Ministry, Energy Ministry, Health Ministry, Bahrain Olympic Committee, Bahrain Defence Force Royal Medical Services, Bahrain Football Association, Bahrain Volleyball Association, Bahrain Basketball Association and Bahrain Handball Association.
Shaikh Nasser also honoured the sponsoring establishments Al Sharif Group, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, Fast Link, Behbehani and Brothers, Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Al Jasmi Holding, Bapco, Batelco, GPIC, Alba, CrediMax, Viva, Sphinx, Menatelecom, Al Marjan Real Estate, Sofitel Hotel, Bahrain-Fujairah Marine Services, Palace Projects, Majestic Car Showroom, Ettisalcom, Hawar Seasons Services, Nass Group and AMA Sports, in addition to media partners Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Wasat, Al Watan, Al Bilad and Bahrain This Week.

The winners of various tournaments were also honours and they included basketball winners VIP, handball winners Al Nebras, volleyball winners Muharraq and football academies juniors winners Kickoff in addition to participating teams in the football tournament, Victorious, Al Nawayef, Forever, Al Zilzal, Nomas, Batelco Gunners United, Al Fakhar, Al Wihda, United Youth, Al Maseef, Cobra, Majestic Car Showroom and Al Zaeem.
Al Nawayef won the best team award, Al Fakhar’s goalkeeper Mohammed Mushaima was the best goalie, Hussain Ali ‘Pele’ of Al Nawayef the top scorer, Mahmoud Abdulrahman ‘Ringo’ of Batelco Gunners United best player, Victorious Team manager Mohammed Ahmed Al Janahi best manager, Mohammed Hamad Al Arjaan of Forever and Al Fakhar’s coach Faisal Abdulmajeed best trainers.
