Manama:Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) concluded its Ramadan Sports Tournaments with a prize-distribution ceremony on Friday at Alba Club.
It was part of the company’s initiatives to encourage sporting activities among employees, strengthen opportunities for employee welfare and promote healthy competition between different departments.
The Alba ladies basketball three-on-three tournament was the biggest attraction this year with 10 teams across Bahrain competing against each other.
The National Team defeated Alba Team 15-11 in the final.
The winners were felicitated by member of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, board member of Bahrain Olympic Committee and chairwoman of Women Sport Committee Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.
Also present at the event were MP Nasser Al Qaseer, member of Council of Representatives and member of Bahrain Basketball Federation, and Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, head of basketball at Muharraq Sports Club.
This year’s tournaments featured more than 35 teams representing a cross section of departments.
In the football final, Reduction Lines beat Finance Team 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw while Casthouse won the basketball trophy defeating COO Team 74-54.
