Cancer is one of the most prominent illnesses in the modern world. It is a rapid, uncontrollable growth of cells. However, there are many ways of reducing the risks of cancer – one of these is to eat these six foods.
Broccoli
It always comes back to the greens! Even though all cruciferous vegetables have cancer-fighting properties, broccoli stands out the most. Broccoli contains a sufficient amount of sulforaphane, which according to Jed Fahey, ScD, is a particularly effective dietary compound that helps stimulate the production of the protective enzymes and eliminates cancer-causing chemicals. A study on laboratory mice at the University of Michigan, showed that sulforaphane not only targeted and killed breast cancer stem cells, but also prevented new tumours from growing.
Broccoli is shown to help fight breast, liver, lung, prostate, and skin, stomach and bladder cancers.
