Algerian boy Mohammed Abdulla Farah has won the Arab Reading Challenge 2016.
The six-year old was announced the 2016 laureate, outshining more than three million Arab contenders who were vying for the coveted prize of $150,000.
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum honoured the winner who defeated more than 610,000 competitors in his home country, Algeria.
Mohammed Abdulla Farah, a primary student at the Ziadi Batu School in Constantine, read and summarized more than 50 books.
At the awards ceremony held in Dubai, Shaikh Mohammed also honoured Palestinian Talaih Al Amal high school, which won the $1-million award for Best Reading Initiatives in the region.
