Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred is facing trial in France for sexual assault.
He was arrested at the Marriott Champs Elysées at the 17th arrondissement of Paris, where he was staying.
According to Moroccan news outlets, the singer who is in police custody will appear before a French prosecutor tomorrow to face charges.
Moroccan news outlet Le360 said that the singer was scheduled to perform on Saturday at Paris’ Palais des Congrés but his concert has now been cancelled.

It quoted the Minister of Culture Mohamed Amine Sbihi as saying, "We are following with great interest this issue and contacts have been made between the authorities of both countries to clarify this matter."
Lamjarred is also facing another lawsuit in the United States after a New York woman accused him of beating and sexually assaulting her in a Brooklyn apartment in 2010.
The Morrocan singer shot to fame in the spring of 2015 after his song 'Lamaalem' (The Boss) received 100,000,000 views on YouTube just three months after it was released.
The song has so far reached over 400,000,000 views on YouTube which set an unprecedented record for an Arab singer and earned him a Guinness world record.
