Abu Dhabi: An Arab national was arrested in Dubai for posting a video of a Rolls Royce with the iconic 'D5' number plate in a 'handicapped-only' parking. Indian businessman Balwinder Sahani filed a lawsuit claiming that the video recording sullied his reputation. The man was later arrested by the police.
“The video portrayed me as a man, who does not care about the law”, he said, claiming that his driver parked the car for a few seconds to pick something. The suspect denied any intention to defame the Indian businessman. He claimed that he was only impressed by “the famous car which bears expensive and unique metal number”.
Nicknamed Abu Sabah, the Indian businessman was issued a violation for leaving his car in a parking for people with special needs. Sahani, who owns a Dubai-based property management company, spent AED 33 million to buy the 'D5' number plate in an auction organised by the Dubai Road Authority.
He expressed his deep relief after the suspect had been arrested, claiming that he hadn’t slept for three nights due to the video recording.
