Interior Minister and Commander of the Arabian Gulf Security 1 exercise, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday inspected the exercise’s command and control centre.
He was briefed on the progress of operations and co-ordination between participating forces, and received an assessment of their field performance, readiness and competency for a wide array of different security contingencies.
The minister observed some of the planned field exercises by GCC forces for the event.
He said each of the forces performed well and the existence of a joint force could improve co-operation. He stressed GCC security co-operation will continue and authorities interact on a daily basis to follow up on all types of cross-border crimes.
