MANAMA: Batelco is hosting the 37th EUGAP General Meeting in Bahrain from Sunday to Wednesday at the InterContinental Regency Hotel.
Batelco is an active member of EUGAP, as one of 26 member organisations which come from 20 countries in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.
EUGAP (Ericsson User Group Asia Pacific) is an operator member-driven user group which offers a structured and consistent platform for the exchange and dissemination of information, and an open dialogue between member operators and Ericsson.
The group forms a single and unified platform for all GSM/WCDMA/LTE operators to discuss and reach a consensus on operational issues and matters of strategic importance for operator business strategy in the context of telecom and IT convergence and ICT industry transformation.
By selecting Batelco in Bahrain as the host for its General Meeting, EUGAP confirms Bahrain as a viable business and event hub in the Middle East region.
The event, which comprises three days of presentations and working group activities, will be attended by more than 150 telecoms experts and executive management from the member organisations.
Following the opening on Monday by EUGAP chairman Steven Hopcraft, Batelco chief technology and information officer Bashier Sallie will deliver the keynote address.
