A HIGHLY competitive field of no less than 20 teams will be battling it out tomorrow in the second round of the Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship.
The event at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir is set to be a three-hour spectacle.
Action is scheduled to get underway with practice at 4pm. Qualifying will follow at 4.15pm which will then lead up to the final qualifying session from 5pm.
The race flags off at 6pm and ends at 9pm.
All are welcome to attend the meeting and enjoy all the racing thrills at BIKC.
The competing squads will be divided into three categories - Pro, Nations and Corporate.
Nations
Currently entered in the Pro class are Batelco Drag 965 Racing, Zain Racing and Ice Racing.
In the Nations category, Batelco Drag 965 Juniors are in the fray, along with Zain Dangerous, Racing on Fire LTD, 3S Racing, Trouvay and Cauvin Group, Al Najma Karting Team, Ithmaar BRM and FX 6 Speeds KSA.
The Corporate class features BBK Racing, BBK Online, Omantel Ozone, Omantel Ozone 2, Texel Air Racing, Fun Xtreme, Bahrain Dyno, Kemen Racing and Team Pakistan.
Racing will be held along BIKC’s 1.414km Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) track. Teams will be going head to head in identical 390cc RT9 Sodikarts.
Heading into the event, Batelco Drag 965 Racing are the favourites to win, having clinched first place in the first round held in October. Aside from the overall win, they also clinched the Pro class, earning them a memorable double.
Winning the Nations class were the Batelco Drag 965 Mechanics, while BBK Racing were triumphant among the Corporate teams.
Tomorrow’s second round will be followed by the third and final meeting in the Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship. It will be a 24-hour event scheduled to take place on January 27 and 28 next year.
