Bahrain: Bahraini Women’s Day was celebrated by Gulf Air in partnership with the National Labour Union of Gulf Air (NLUGF) at the airline’s Muharraq headquarters.

It was held alongside a dedicated week-long tribute to key Bahraini female members of the airline’s workforce, which has a 37 per cent female personnel.

The airline’s longest serving Bahraini female employee Badriya Janahi, as well as Gulf Air clinic nurse Amal Jawad, incentive administrator Nadia Al Atteyah, executive secretary Aysha Aldoseri, repair specialist Mardheya Mosawi, scheduling manager Shaikha Mahamed and IT project manager Yasmin Shanaa were honoured.

“There exist challenges unique to being a woman in the workplace and these are evident to varying degrees across the globe,” said Gulf Air chief financial officer Sahar Ataei.

“Part of Gulf Air’s mission to be a healthy organisation includes empowering our female workforce, dedicating ourselves to their advancement and giving them the tools for success.”
