FAVOURITES had a good at the horse racing in Sakhir yesterday winning three of the four feature races and one of the two support events.
Chopin, owned by Maher Ebrahim Lutfalla, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Alberto Sanna, lived up to expectations beating Thorkhill Star by a neck to claim the Credimax Cup for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,000.
Vale Do Sol was third and Sir Charlie Kunz fourth.
Favourite Dagher, owned by Al-Afoo Racing Stable, trained by Mohammed Hasan and ridden by Alberto Sanna, also obliged beating Sakada by a length to claim the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Cup for imported horses which also carried a cash prize of BD2,000.
Pleasure Bent was third and Android fourth.
Barracuda, owned by Al Mallah Syndicate, trained by A Jalil Al Mallah and ridden by Robert Khathi, beat Lazaal by two lengths to win the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Cup for locally bred horses which carried a cash prize of BD1,500.
Khamila was third and Satellite fourth.
Lazzam, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Nalyor and ridden by Adnan Jaffar, created the biggest upset of the day when it beat Makramah by half-a-length to win the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Cup for locally bred horses which carried a cash prize of BD1,500.
Waridat was third and Blue Angel fourth.
Nardeen, owned by Feras Sami Hashem Al Meshqab, trained by Osama Hashim and ridden by Jimmy Quinn, was the only other upset winner when it beat Ghazaliya by one-and-half-a-length to win the race for locally bred horses which carried a cash prize of BD1,500.
Fardiya was third and Call A Friend fourth.
Pity Cash, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, was another favourite to live up to expectations beating Celtic Man by a length to win the race for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD1,500.
Grey Z was third and Curtain Call fourth.
