Brave 3 will take place in Brazil on February 25, according to Brave Combat Federation (BCF) CEO Mohammed Shahid.
Shahid made the announcement at a press conference at Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town following the conclusion of Brave Two: Dynasty on Friday night.
“Brave is a global event. We are trying to take it all over the world and Brazil will be the very first step,” the former Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter said.
Broadcasted in over 20 countries to millions of spectators, Brave Two: Dynasty is considered to be the first Bahrain-based event that went international.
“When we started the KHK MMA Organisation, we had a plan to look at our local talent and find talent in places where no one looks,” he said.
“We went to India, Pakistan and the Philippines to look for their best fighters. We looked within the Arab world. We also went to places which get a lot of media attention, like Ireland and England,” Shahid added.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s pride Hamza Kooheji thanked First Deputy president of Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, president of Bahrain Athletics Association and honorary president of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“When I started MMA, it was only me and Shahid in Bahrain that used to train. No one knew what MMA was about. He (Shaikh Khalid) gave us the chance to prove ourselves and I would like to thank him for that,” said Kooheji, who defeated Philipino Pacatiw by an unanimous decision.
Other fighters present at the press conference also voiced their appreciation for being a part of Brave Combat Federation.
Lebanon’s Mohammed Fakhreddine, who pulled out of the first edition of Brave due to a knee injury requested to be put up against Brave Two Champion Carl Booth in the future.
“Shahid, how about me going up against Booth in Brave Three or Four?” Fakhreddine asked.
Shahid did seem enthusiastic about the idea of a fight between them but he left the door open for anything to happen in the future.
Englishman Booth also gave his approval for the fight saying he will be ready to take on anyone at any time.
Shaikh Khalid watched the bouts with Kerrith Brown president of International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and CEO Denzin White.
