A SERIES of events are taking place over the course of the next week to raise awareness of, and funds for, refugees.
The Building Bridges Film Festival will feature award-winning documentaries and a line-up of international speakers, directors and producers.
Bahraini philanthropist Eman Nooruddin initiated the idea along with one of the producers of Salam Neighbour Mohab Khattab.
The event was inaugurated with a screening of Salam Neighbour last night at the Cultural Hall.
Tomorrow night, Building Bridges Through Food will be hosted by Marassi Beach in Diyar Al Muharraq from 5pm to 9.30pm, where the film Chef will be screened.
On Saturday, the Children and Mother’s Welfare Society will host Building Bridges Through Humanity, with a screening of A Girl in the River from 10am to 12.30pm.
This will be followed by Building Bridges Through Experience on Monday at Oliveto Adliya, where a documentary called Living on One Dollar will be screened from 6.30pm.
Concluding the week-long festival is Building Bridges Through Music at Four Seasons Bahrain Bay, where Song of Lahore will be screened from 6pm.
Also taking place throughout the week is a five-day film-making workshop at Studio ACA in Sanad, which begins today and costs BD350 per person.
