Six bank employees were handed prison sentences ranging from 8 to 12 years, for stealing SR6 million from the account of a Saudi woman.
The convicts, three Saudi nationals and three expatriates, will also be flogged in a connection with the same case which took place in Jeddah.
They were convicted of kidnapping the woman’s Yemeni husband, forcing him to give them his wife’s bank PIN (Person Identification Number) and stealing his wallet.
A police inquiry revealed that they impersonated criminal investigation officers, abducted the husband, tied him up and forced him to reveal his wife’s PIN.
