THE racing never stops at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir, and this weekend is no exception.
An action-packed programme over three days awaits speed enthusiasts, from Thursday to Saturday, at the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East in Sakhir.
On Thursday and Friday, BIC will be opening its doors for back-to-back editions of Open Track Night. It will then be followed up on Saturday with an Ultimate Track Experience.
Open Track on Thursday will be held along the 2.55-kilometre Inner Track, while on Friday on the 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix circuit.
Participants will be able to enjoy the unique spectacle of driving their cars or riding their bikes under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlighting system. Action will be held from 4pm to 11pm on both nights.
Those taking part will be able to choose between driving for a whole night at BD105 or just for a half-night at BD75. A single 30-minute session can also be enjoyed for BD40.
Registration can be done at BIC itself on both days, however, those who book in advance can get a discount.
Friends or family members who would like to accompany a participant as a passenger in their car may do so at an extra fee of BD12.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, on offer during the Ultimate Track Experience are the Clio Cup Drive, SR1 Drive and SR3 Passenger Ride. All activities will take place on BIC’s Inner Track.
The Clio Cup drive will give clients an exciting look into the racing capabilities of one of the world’s most popular sports cars. The Renault-manufactured Clio Cup features a 1.6-litre Turbocharged engine. It can generate up to 220bhp and 6,000rpm, and it has a paddle shift racing gearbox and an FIA-specification roll cage and seats.
Adrenaline
The Clio Cup drive can be purchased for BD120. It includes a pair of six-lap sessions and the entire experience lasts roughly two-and-a-half hours.
The Radical SR1 drive promises a pure adrenaline rush. The SR1 features an RPE-Suzuki 1,340cc engine which can generate 185bhp. It has a six-speed sequential transverse gearbox and it can go a maximum speed of 138mph. The SR1 launches from zero to 100kmh in 3.6 seconds.
The SR1 drive includes two five-lap sessions that could last up to around two-and-a-half hours at the cost of BD140. Completing the Clio Cup drive is required before taking part in the SR1 experience.
