FIVE feature races in a card of eight are the highlights of today’s horse racing in Sakhir.
The richest race of the day is for the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup for Arabian horses which carries a cash prize of BD2,500 and to be run over 1,400 metres, starting at 2.30pm.
Of the seven horses in the fray, Al Tuwaisah 1660, owned by Al Jasra, trained by Yousif Taher and to be ridden by Andrew Elliott is expected to win this race.
Al Kray 1679 and Al Hamdanieh 1641 are the second and third favourites respectively.
Wayne Looney, owned by H and R Stables, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Sadiq Hameed, is tipped to win the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup for locally bred horses which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,600 metres, starting at 2.55pm.
No Doubt and Shamikh are expected to give the favourite a run for its money.
Equivalent, owned by Naser Ali Naser Almoamen, trained by Osama Hahsim and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, looks in best shape to win the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup which carries a cash prize of BD2,500 and to be run over 1,600 metres, starting at 3.20pm.
George The First and Allergic Reaction are the second and third favourites respectively.

The race for the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup for locally bred horses, which carries a cash prize of BD1,500 and to be run over 2,400 metres, starting at 4.10pm, has attracted the smallest field of four horses.
But Milyar, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Alberto Sanna, is the best bet to win this race ahead of its nearest challengers Retort and News Breaker.
The race for the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup for imported horses, which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 2,200 metres, starting at 4.35pm, has attracted the biggest field of 13 horses.
But Pressure Point, owned by Shaikh Naser bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, is tipped to win this race.
Field of Fame and Semeen are expected to give the favourite a run for its money.
There are three support races as well on the cards with the race for locally bred horses, which carries a cash prize of BD1,500 and to be run over 1,400 metres, kicking off the day’s action at 1.40pm.
Ghamra, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Alberto Sanna, is the favourite to win this race ahead of its closest challengers Blues Guitar and Al Saida.
Lolla Fincess, owned by Awal Racing Syndicate, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and to be ridden by Alberto Sanna, it tipped to win the race for imported horses which carries a cash prize of BD1,500 and to be run over 1,200 metres straight, starting at 2.05pm.
Nisser and Intruder are the second and third favourites respectively.
Misterioso, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, looks in best shape to win the race for imported horses which carries a cash prize of BD1,500 and to be run over 1,200 metres straight, starting at 3.45pm.
Let Go Ego and Honest Bob’s are the second and third favourite respectively.
