Manama: Bahrain national Sailing team has improved its world ranking after excelling in the World Sailing Championship in Russia.
The national team, led by skipper Ibrahim Abdulla, managed to improve its world ranking from 94 to 78.
The world sailing championship saw the participation of teams from New Zealand, Australia, France, Russia (two teams), England, USA, Japan, Algeria and Bahrain.
Bahrain qualified for the world championship after they placed second in the Asian qualifying stage, behind winners Japan, in Bahrain last April.
The national team members who participated in the world sailing championship were team director Qassim Bin Jamea and sailors Ibrahim Abdulla, Ahmed Abdulla, Ibrahim Daej and Ahmed Al Na’ar.
