Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, will be opening its doors to the public on Friday for an entire day of racing thrills in Sakhir.
Set to be on the cards are an Open Track for Cars and Bikes, and a pair of Passenger Rides from the Ultimate Track Experience. The activities will be held from 9am to 4pm along BIC’s 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track.
Open Track Day will allow participants to drive their very own road cars or motorbikes. They will be able to choose between driving for the full day at BD85 per person, or for just half the day at BD60. A single 30-minute drive can also be availed for BD25.
Those who book in advance will get a discount. A full day’s drive would cost just BD75, a half-day would be BD50 and a single session would cost only BD20.
Friends or family members accompanying participants at BIC will also have a chance to be a part of all the action as a passenger in a car. The passenger ride costs BD12.
Friday’s Open Track activity will be run to the highest of international safety standards, although participants will still be able to push their cars or motorbikes to their very limit. All vehicles must first go through scrutineering before being allowed to take to the track.
Meanwhile, the Ultimate Track Experience will be offering the Clio Cup and Radical SR3 Passenger Rides.
The Clio Cup ride gives fans a look into the racing capabilities of one of the world’s most popular sports cars. The Renault-manufactured Clio Cup features a 1.6-litre Turbocharged engine. It can generate up to 220bhp and 6,000rpm, and it has a paddle shift racing gearbox and an FIA-specification roll cage and seats. The Clio Cup Passenger Ride comprises a single three-lap session of around 40 minutes, and it can be enjoyed for BD25.
The Radical SR3 passenger ride will be conducted alongside one of BIC’s expert driving instructors. A Radical SR3 boasts an RPE-Suzuki Generation 1,340 DOHC engine. It can go from zero to 100kmh in 3.4 seconds, and also has a six-speed sequential gearbox and paddle gearshift system. The SR3 Passenger Ride costs BD35 for a three-lap session of around 40 minutes.
All those taking part in any of Friday’s activities must wear the appropriate clothing along with closed-toe footwear.
