An Arab man weighing 300 kg was rescued from his flat in Sharjah and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The unidentified man was unable to leave the apartment and needed urgent medical attention at a hospital.
Civil defence units used an aerial ladder to remove the obese man from his flat, which is located in a multi-storey residential building.
The ladder was positioned beneath the building and the patient was then slowly lowered to the ground before being transferred to a waiting ambulance, said Sharjah Civil Defence director-general Colonel Sami Al-Naqabi.
