Dubai: A stunt performed by Russian model Viktoria Odintsova, who risked her life for an Instagram photoshoot off Dubai's Cayan Tower, has been condemned by the owner of the high-rise building.
Cayan Group announced that it has launched legal steps, adding that all those involved in the life-threatening act would held accountable according to Albayan.
“Russian model Viki Odintcova and her assistants’ death-defying stunt of hanging off the edge of its roof without any restraints or safety precautions was done without their approval or permission”, said Gizel Daher, director of Marketing and Communications of Cayan Group.
The 73-storey tower was touted as one of the tallest buildings in the world when it opened in 2013.
The Russian model appeared in photos posted online holding a male assistant's hand, while dangling out from the 1004-feet high-rise building.
The 23-year old woman, who lives in St Petersburg, posted the video and pictures on Instagram, sparking outrage.
She later wrote, “I still can’t believe I did it. Every time I watch the video my palms go sweaty.”
Dubai Police Assistant Chief Major-General Khalil Ebrahim Al-Mansouri, Assistant warned that any stunt on top of a skyscraper without authorisation is punishable by the law, announcing an investigation into the incident.
