Riyadh: The police freed a Saudi woman who was held a hostage by her husband in the province of Riyadh.
The officers successfully raided a residential building in the in West Riyadh and freed the woman along with her daughter and maidservant, according to Alriyadh.
Security officers arrested the armed husband, a Saudi national in his forties, and seized a machine gun, a pistol, two magazines and a large amount of live ammunition.
The wife managed to call the Al-Arija police station and asked officers to come to their rescue.
The officers clashed with the armed husband while the civil defence dug a hole in the wall for the mother, daughter and maid to flee.
Other airborne officers raided the house from the rooftop and freed the hostages and arrested the man. The rescue operation was ordered and monitor by the Governor of Riyadh.
