TWO Jordanian fighters have joined the fight card of the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Brave 4: Unstoppable on March 31 in Abu Dhabi.
Brave Combat Federation’s lightweight contender Abdulkareem Al Selwady (6-1) will face Brazil’s Alex “Coringa” Rodrigues (5-1) and welterweight contender Jarrah Al Selawi (8-2 MMA, 1-0 Brave) meets newly signed top Italian prospect Daniele “Scat” Scatizzi.
The event at the IPIC Arena at Zayed Sports City, will be headlined by the promotion’s first-ever title fight between Algerian Elias Boudegzdame and Mexico’s Masio Fullen.
In his promotional debut, Al Selwady made a huge statement, putting on an electrifying performance against Rami Aziz at Brave 2: Dynasty.
This main-event victory put the Jordanian in the spotlight, making him the target of many challengers across the globe.
Yet, Brave officials already had Al Selwady booked, only to reveal yesterday that he will be facing Brazil’s Rodrigues.
Rodriguez boasts a professional record of five wins and one loss, with all wins by way of submission. His loss came after a five-fight winning streak, and he will be definitely looking to bounce back on the winning track and be the man who stops Al Selwady.
Stakes
The stakes are big for this fight, and it also comes with a special twist. Rodrigues trains at Icon Jiu-Jitsu Switzerland and is a teammate of Aziz Julaidan, Al Selwady’s bitter rival. The fans are going to love this one.
Al Selawi (8-2), regarded as a top five welterweight in the Middle East, will be a massive crowd favourite in the Emirates.
He marches into this bout with a three-fight win streak and eight professional career wins.
The “Jordanian Lion“ holds victories against fighters like Mohammad Fakhreddine, Ramy Hamed, Artem Reznikov, with his latest victory coming at Brave 2: Dynasty, submitting Erik Carlsson in the second round.
Scatizzi, 23, is originally from Rome. He currently lives and trains at Straight Blast Gym in Ireland, under coach John Kavanagh.
“Scat” has a professional record of eight wins and two losses. A Bellator veteran, with a win over his fellow countryman Daniele Miceli, Scatizzi beat Bartlomiej Kurczewski via unanimous decision in his last bout at VCE 5, in Italy.
Brave 4: Unstoppable will be Brave’s maiden title fight and Brave president Shahid promises that this will be the biggest fight card in the history of Middle East.
The organisers are yet to announce the broadcast plans but past Brave events have been aired on OSN Sports 4, Bahrain TV, MYX TV (Nationwide US Coverage), ABS CBN Sports+Action , El Ray Network and LiveE on BraveFights.com.
