Aamir Khan turned 52 on March 14 and the actor had a busy day. However, unlike other stars who prefer partying or going on a vacation, Aamir kept a low profile. However, he did cut a cake with the media like he did last year.
He also shot for a popular Marathi TV show 'Chala Hawa Yeu Dya' as a part of a special initiative of Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao run the NGO. Aamir was dressed in a plain white shirt and brown jeans. But what grabbed eyeballs were his orange turban and also his handlebar moustache. Meanwhile, Kiran looked simple and elegant in the traditional Indian wear, saree.
The third season of his celebrated television chat show, Satyamev Jayate, has been delayed, with the actor claiming 'the team is researching the drought issue in the state'. Along with wife, filmmaker Kiran Rao, Aamir went on the set of a Marathi show (left) to shoot for an episode, as part of promotions for the organisation.
Later in the evening, there was a small party at Aamir's house which included not only his 'Dangal' film family but also the inspirations behind it - the Phogats. Shah Rukh Khan also stopped by. The star did not want to be photographed and left the party very late.
As for presents, Aamir spoke about what he got for his birthday.
"I haven't got any gifts from my family. I am still waiting for something. I will spend time with them, like (I do) every year. Ammi has made seekh kebabs for me, like she does on my birthday. That's her gift," Aamir told mediapersons.
Aamir also spoke about the rumours of his doing a Rakesh Sharma biopic: “The only film that I am working on is Thugs of Hindostan. That’s the only thing I am working on. I haven’t signed anything else.”
On working with Amitabh Bachchan: "I am a fan of Amitji and this is my first chance of working with him. I am so excited… The kind of actor that he is, the level that he has… I am sure I will learn a lot from him and it will be a very memorable experience for me.”
