The government of Oman has decided to suspend imports of Brazilian meat due to the scandal which broke out recently.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries announced the suspension of all licences authorising imports of Brazilian meat as a precautionary measure.
The competent authorities have deployed veterinarians to all border points to test Brazilian meat imports, said the Times of Oman newspaper.
Omani authorities have reportedly started discussing with the Brazilian government the inspection procedure at meat factories.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia decided a few days ago to halt imports of Brazilian meat after allegations that companies have been exporting unsafe produce.
