Defending champions Manama reached the Bahrain Zain Basketball League final after defeating Al Hala 79-61 in their semi-final Golden Square stage played last night at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.
The quarters scores were as follows: 18-17 (Al Hala), 18-12 (Manama), 19-13 (Manama), 25-18 (Manama).
Manama’s best scorers were Georgian Nikoloz who scored 21 points, Mohammed Kuwayed 13 points and Mohammed Qurban who had 12 points.
Al Hala’s best scorers were American Loren Woods who finished with 20 points and Hussain Salman who scored 12 points.
This was Manama’s second win in a row to win the best-of-three series by 2-1, with Al Hala winning the first clash.
Manama now will play in the final match against Khalifa bin Salman’s Cup champions Muharraq in a best-of-five series, with the first clash set to start on April 5.
It was the first game for Manama’s new Spanish coach Pepe Claros who took over the team after Serbian coach Dragan was sacked from the team by the management.
Manama won the second game under their assistant coach, Aqeel Milad, before Claros took care of the third game and led the team to victory.
Claros will face Muharraq, his old team he handled last season.
