Kuwaiti authorities have stepped up security measures to avert possible terrorist attacks in the country.
The authorities have increased security at border entry points after receiving intelligence information from other GCC countries about sleep cells which perpetrate attacks before Ramadan.
Counter-terrorism forces had earlier conducted raids and arrested seven relatives of Kuwaiti Husayn al-Dhafiri, who is detained in the Philippines, along with his five-months-pregnant Syrian wife Rahaf Zina on suspicion of being members of ISIS.
Another brother of Al-Dhafiri has also been arrested at Kuwait International Airport upon arrival from the Philippines.
The state national security agency has circulated pictures of other wanted ISIS suspects.
The General Directorate of Customs has also issued strict measures to intensify searches in order to thwart attempts to smuggle prohibited items.
