MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday received Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir at Gudaibiya Palace.
The meeting followed a dinner banquet, which the Crown Prince hosted in honour of the President and the accompanying delegation.
The Crown Prince highlighted Bahrain’s firm commitment to continue advancing collaboration and co-operation with Sudan, which he said will directly contribute to achieving both countries’ development goals.
The Crown Prince also highlighted Sudan’s longstanding and distinguished role in supporting joint Arab co-operation and Bahrain, adding that this reflects Sudan’s commitment to preserving the region’s security and stability.
The Crown Prince spoke of ongoing Bahrain-Sudan co-operation across various areas, and noted in particular the steady growth of investment and agriculture co-operation between the two countries.
The Crown Prince went on to highlight the positive role that Sudanese people continue to play in Bahrain and their support to the country.
The meeting also included discussions on regional and international developments, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Members of the Royal Family, ministers and senior Bahraini officials also attended the meeting.
