Emirati tourists and businessmen have been exempted from visa formalities to visit the Russian Far East, according to Al Ittihad newspaper.
The UAE is among 18 countries whose nationals have been permitted to enter without visas, including nine Arab states.
The list includes Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, India, Iran, Qatar, China, North Korea, Kuwait, Morocco, Mexico, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey and Japan.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced the preferential regime which was posted by TASS news agency.
He said that the 18 countries were chosen from various regions under the reciprocity principle.
