Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received US Defence Secretary James Mattis and discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing ties and developing joint programmes and initiatives.
According to SPA, the two sides focused on the challenges facing the region, especially the hostile practices of the Iranian regime and its role in destabilising security and stability in the region.
Joint efforts to combating terrorist organisations such as ISIS and Al Qaeda, to maintain security and stability of the region in general were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State and cabinet member Dr Musa'ad Al Aiban, Saudi Chief of Staff Maj General Abdulrahman Al Bunyan and other senior officials.
