Riyadh: A petrol tanker truck carrying 33 tons of fuel caught fire on the highway linking Mecca and Jeddah in western Saudi Arabia, reported Al Riyadh.

Another man was burnt to death in his car as the fire spread to nearby vehicles, said Mecca Civil Defence official spokesman Major Nayef Al-Sharif.

The blaze engulfed two other cars on the highway before the civil defence units could intervene to put out the fire. An inquiry is underway.
