Qatar reiterated its keenness to ensure the safety and security of its workers and providing a healthy and proper environment at work sites, according to QNA.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment issued a statement in this regard marking World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
It said that it had drafted an integrated guide on the conditions of limiting damages from construction, maintenance and demolition at work sites as the construction sector constitutes a critical corner in the country.
The statement added the country is witnessing rapid urban growth in a way that calls for special conditions to limit the side effects of construction projects, contain any negative impact on the population and commercial businesses, and find a healthy and proper environment for people.
The ministry said all municipalities and their respective departments are working to implement the conditions and measures on their workers so as to provide the proper environment for field work and compel workers to follow them as well as take all the safety and security precautions.
The ministry also pays special attention to the awareness aspect for workers by guiding them to the right practices as well as amending the working hours according to the rise and drop in temperature throughout the year.
